Scientific writing is increasingly becoming unthinkable without AI, and it is difficult to keep up with the pace of change. This hands-on workshop equips you with up-to-date, effective methods for rewriting and proofreading your scientific texts with AI tools before submission.
Through examples and practice, you will learn how to use AI tools to:
- transform unclear passages into crisp, persuasive arguments;
- restructure complex information for improved logical flow and readability;
- identify and fix common writing issues before submission;
- develop reliable workflows that integrate AI tools with traditional editing practices.
The workshop will provide:
- step-by-step techniques for effectively prompting AI in rewriting and proofreading;
- a comparison of the strengths and weaknesses of leading AI tools for revising;
- troubleshooting for common problems and limitations of AI tools;
- guidance on ethical and legal aspects around AI in academic writing and publishing.
The collaborative session will include time to share strategies and experiences with fellow researchers and to work on your own text.
Please bring a text you would like to improve and a laptop with access to an LLM chatbot (e.g., ChatGPT, Le Chat, Claude, etc.) and an AI writing assistant (LanguageTool, DeepL Write, Grammarly) of your choice.
