This training supports German language learners who want to improve and practice their pronunciation. The course meets the needs of participants with solid A1 skills as well those who are already on level A2/B1.
Participants are familiarized with fundamental aspects of spoken German. They are guided to identify typical difficulties that many language learners encounter, as well as problems that are unique to individual speakers. Building on this, participants are then supported to master these challenges (posed by German pronunciation).
The training deals with the pronunciation of various consonants and vowels, difficult combinations of sounds, and assimilations. Through practicing, participants find out about the characteristics of these sounds and how to physically produce them. Sounds are examined and intensively trained by forming words and sentences, as well as by reading short texts aloud. The appropriate Standard German intonation and transliteration by letter(s) are also covered in this training.
