Step away from your desk, stretch your legs, and practice your English over the lunch break. This course invites university employees to combine a relaxed walk through Basel with friendly conversation in English, a low-pressure way to build fluency and confidence while meeting colleagues from across the university.
Each week, the instructor brings conversation prompts, useful vocabulary, and discussion materials to get things going. From there, the group sets the pace: You might chat about weekend plans, swap perspectives on working life at the university, or follow wherever the conversation leads. At the end of each session, the instructor answers your language questions and offers feedback to help you keep improving.
The group decides together each week where to walk. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we simply move the conversation indoors.
The course counts toward the Certificate of Intercultural Competence for administrative, technology, and lab personnel.
